There have been some intricate details that have come out regarding one Chelsea deal that would explain a lot of the noise this week.

The Blues are expected to be busy now this summer, and we have had plenty of updates floating around this morning already.

Please join me on my own Chelsea website where I report all the inside info on the club and put out opinion articles and Podcasts!

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has put out his latest YouTube video at the weekend with a bunch of info in that. The main takeaway was Romano saying Chelsea are going to be in the market for a new striker, a centre back, and a winger in the summer.

And there has also been a lot of noise regarding Jadon Sancho and whether Chelsea will actually be signing him from Manchester United permanently in the summer or not. The Athletic are reporting that there is a £5m break clause fee that Chelsea can pay to send him back and terminate the loan obligation to buy.

And it is the Sancho situation we are talking about now. We had consistently been hearing that Chelsea were 100% signing Sancho in the summer, making the deal permanent. But now there are briefings coming out everywhere with details on how they now might not be signing him.

What's going on?

Well, Ben Jacobs is reporting on GIVEMESPORT today that the conditional obligation for Chelsea to buy Sancho is around the £22-25million mark if Chelsea finish above 15th, but there would be a higher fee to pay the higher Chelsea's league finish is.

With Chelsea currently in fourth spot, maybe they are now looking to not sign Sancho because the purchase fee might now end up being too much. This is me speculating of course, but it would now make sense to me after reading the above.
