The next generation
Kendry Páez has recently completed a multi-week visit with Chelsea, ahead of his move officially to the club later this year, when he turns 18.
His former club, Independiente del Valle technically still retain his rights, but he's not actually going to play for them in the 2025 season that began last month. Despite that lack of gametime, he did get called-up by Ecuador during the latest international break, though he did not get to actually play.
He did talk to the media briefly, reflecting on this period of adaptation.
"I was in England training with Chelsea. I'm very happy to be in that environment, with the club's top players. I learned a lot..."

Kendry will turn 18 in May and it sounds like we'll be taking advantage of FIFA's transfer window rejigging to have him join us in time for the Club World Cup.
Chelsea also plan to include Kendry Paez in their Club World Cup squad. 17-year-old, who turns 18 in May, has already made two visits to Cobham as part of his acclimatisation. Plan is for him to be part of the #CFC squad in America. pic.twitter.com/GukFCIUFsV
