The favorites?

Spain may not have been among the pre-tournament favorites for Euro 2024, but with most of those teams struggling to impress so far (such as France and England), and Spain absolutely rolling through their first four games, they surely have to be considered up there now.

While they did go behind in this Round of 16 matchup against great entertainers Georgia, conceding for the first time all tournament — though via an own goal, so technically they still haven't been scored on by the opposition! — La Furia Roja's response was indeed furious and red, like their shirts.

Rodri equalized just before the half, and second half goals from Fabián Ruiz, Nico Williams, and Dani Olmo would follow. Williams, who had been linked with Chelsea in recent months, was the main inspiration behind Spain's attacking flurries. I'm sure many teams around Europe were paying attention.

Marc Cucurella was back in the starting lineup after being rested in the final group game, and put in a solid 66-minute shift before making way for Álex Grimaldo.

Spain move on to the quarterfinals, where they'll face host nation Germany in what could essentially be the final for this year's competition.
