Post-match team news

Chelsea's injury record has been quite good this season, but we've had a few growing concerns of late, and Saturday's kickabout at the King Power only added to that. Thankfully, it would appear that neither Cole Palmer nor João Félix are any worse for wear after being on the receiving ends of red card-worthy reducers from Leicester City's sharp-studded lunging-in enthusiasts.

Enzo Maresca was reticent to criticize his former charges after the game, especially Wilfred Ndidi ("...because I love Wilf"), but he did provide an update on those who surprisingly missed out, Malo Gusto and Pedro Neto, and those whose situations have been among the more concerning recently.

"Malo was with us but during the night, he unfortunately did not feel well in terms of ill. Pedro, he had a problem with his international team. There was a chance he could be with us but we didn't take any risks for this game and hopefully he can be available for the next game."

"[Colwill] exactly the same as Malo. He didn't feel very well during the night and this morning. But he could play, finish the game, and hopefully [the knock at the end] is nothing important."

"[...] We didn't have any update on Reece. We still have to wait for some day when he is going to do a scan again and we will see."

We're next in action on Thursday, away to Heidenheim in the UEFA Conference League before a run of three Premier League games in seven days to begin the month of December. Hopefully we can keep a lid on these injury and illness concerns.
