Small samples, big results

The first (half-)month of the Premier League season is in the books, with every team having played three games. Chelsea have won just one of our three games so far, but we've seen some promising passages of play, especially in the tremendous 6-2 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Unsurprisingly, our reigning Player of the Year has been front and center to most of the good things we've done on offense, with a goal and four (4!) assists in just three games, and for his efforts he's been nominated for the Premier League's Player of the Month for August.

Incidentally, Palmer won the last such award last season, so he could make it back-to-back. It's hard to see Palmer beating seven-goal (7!) Erling Haaland to the honor, but you can get to voting here.

The one goal that Palmer has scored got its own nomination as well, one of eight strikes up for the Goal of the Month.

You can vote for that here.
