Chelsea's Carney Chukwuemeka struggled with multiple injuries last season, restricting him to 254 minutes from 12 games.

Enzo Maresca hasn't included the 20-year-old in the squad this season. The midfielder isn't pleased with his situation at the west London club and 'wants a change of scenery' in January.

That's according to Calciomercato, who say AC Milan could be an option for the Chelsea player in January.

Paulo Fonseca’s side tried to sign him on deadline day of the summer window. They are back in the mix for him again.

Ismaël Bennacer suffered an injury while on international duty with Algeria. Calciomercato say his setback is serious and this has forced Milan technical director Geoffrey Moncada to look for options in the winter market.

The Serie A side have identified Chukwuemeka and Real Betis' Johnny Cardoso as two targets.

With regards to the Chelsea player, it's claimed he's an 'old obsession' of the Rossoneri's scouting team. Maresca's decision to not give him minutes has convinced the England U20 international to leave the Blues.

After a failed attempt in the summer, the report states 'time seems to be ripe' for Milan to make another attempt in the next window.

Moncada will soon start working on a strategy to sign a midfielder in January. It needs to be whether it’ll be Chukwuemeka or another player.
