More bids

Cesare Casadei looks set to leave Chelsea in the January transfer window, that much is clear. But where he might end up going, that seems far less clear.

It looks likely to be the Serie A back in his native Italy. Torino have been trying all month, but have yet to find a breakthrough. Napoli were linked briefly, then unlinked. Now, we have some rumblings from The Oracle of Sarri that SS Lazio (i.e. Sarri's former team, before his shock resignation late last season) are preparing an approach, perhaps to the tune of €15m.

Of course, that €15m wouldn't be an actual transfer offer, but rather a loan obligation. Serie A things, innit. While still better than just a loan option, Chelsea are wanting a permanent transfer — in part because our foreign loan slot are rather limited — and we also want a sell-on clause. Those are pretty strong demands, but if we can generate a bit of a bidding war, we just might get something in the ballpark before the month's end.
