WINNER WINNER HAMMERS HAMMERED DINNER

Chelsea made an absolutely brilliant start to the game, with confident passing, excellent movement, and two fantastic finishes from Nicolas Jackson inside of 18 minutes, with Cole Palmer just missing one as well in between.

But West Ham eventually woke up and started playing and making things a bit more awkward for us. Robert Sánchez was called into action a couple times, while Mohammed Kudus had a goal chalked off correctly for a clear offside and Wesley Fofana got away with a bit of a pull on Crysencio Summerville that could've been called a penalty on another day.

Chelsea made a brilliant start to the second half as well, with Cole Palmer making it 3-0 just a couple minutes into it, settling some nerves on yours truly's part.

West Ham tried to mount a response, but the defense held strong and Sánchez made a couple more saves when it was necessary.

Chelsea could've added several more to make the scoreline even more pleasing — Félix and Nkunku coming oh so close — but we would settle for the just three-spot.

Carefree.

  • First Chelsea start for Jadon Sancho as Maresca makes several changes from last weekend
  • Fofana the latest to try to deputize at right back with both James and Gusto injured... is Chilwell available; surely he could do the job?
  • Assists from Sancho, Caicedo, and Jackson
  • Clean sheet!
  • Next up: League Cup third round at home against lower league Barrow AFC
  • KTBFFH
