Away win for women's team

Chesterfield FC Women won 4-1 at Notts County Development on Sunday afternoon. The game started off fairly evenly as both teams settled into the game. It was Chesterfield who took the lead though in the 16th minute through captain Megan Clarkson. Notts failed to clear an in-swinging corner and Clarkson was first to react to put the Spireites ahead. Notts equalised on the half-hour mark through a penalty, but it only took another minute for Chesterfield to restore their lead. Rebecca Lilleyman did well to keep the ball in on the touchline before beating the defender to put a great cross inro the box. The keeper got a hand to it but Maddie Watkinson followed in to make it 2-1. Chesterfield built on their lead in the 40th minute through a delightful shot from Faye Delaney. Delaney saw the keeper off her line and from 25 yards out, looped the ball into the goal to make it 3-1. The Spireites started the second-half strongly and added a fourth goal in the 58th minute.
