Janoi Donacien has shared his thoughts with 1866+ after signing for the Spireites. He said: "It feels very good to finally be up here, get it all done and I'm ready to go. "I've been in contact with the gaffer and ‘KD’ [Kieron Dyer]. They've been keeping tabs on me and then they reached out and I said: 'Yeah let's go'." During his time at Ipswich, Donacien played under Paul Cook in the 2021/22 season, when Gary Roberts and Dyer were apart of Cook's coaching staff. On working with the trio again, Donacien said: "We spent some time together at Ipswich and they liked me as a player. "I had some good times [under Cook]. He brought me back in and he helped me out a lot so it will be good to be playing under him again. "I just like the way he is, he's very straight forward, tells you how it is, gives you lots of support and he's very understanding."
