Spireites sign experienced defender

Kyle McFadzean has joined the Spireites on a deal until the end of the season, linking up with the squad after leaving Blackburn Rovers as the fourth addition of the January transfer window. After beginning his career with Sheffield United, McFadzean has represented Alfreton Town, Crawley Town, MK Dons, Burton Albion, Coventry City and Blackburn Rovers, amassing over 600 appearances at a high pedigree. Notably, he featured in the Championship play-off final with Coventry City in 2023 where they suffered shoot-out defeat to Luton Town, narrowly missing out on reaching the top-flight for the first time since 2001. Upon signing, he said: "I’m delighted to get it over the line now and I can’t wait to get started to be honest. "The main thing is to come here and try and help the lads get what they want to do and that’s to get promoted. That’s a big thing for me."
