Supporter using racist language banned from stadium

A 62-year-old season ticket holder has been banned from the SMH Group Stadium following his use of racist language. The incident at the Salford City game was reported to stewards and to the police. As a result, the season ticket holder was formally interviewed by the police. He was given the opportunity to engage with an education programme run by Kick It Out, the anti-discrimination charity, instead of a criminal sanction. The supporter's season ticket has been cancelled and they will not be allowed back on to the footprint of the stadium. Chesterfield Football Club will not tolerate any discriminatory language or behaviour and will work with the police and partner organisations to combat this. If you observe inappropriate behaviour at matches, please inform a steward or use the QR code shown around the stadium to report it.
