Crystal Palace signed Daichi Kamada in the summer window after what turned out to be a controversial exit from Lazio for the midfielder.

He spent only one season at the Rome side, initially failing to impress under Maurizio Sarri. He made an impact under Igor Tudor late in the 2023/24 campaign, scoring against would-be champions Inter.

His exit led to some internal chaos, as manager Igor Tudor departed and Lazio’s summer plans completely changed with the arrival of Marco Baroni.

At Crystal Palace, the Japan international is yet to score or assist in six Premier League games and there seems to be satisfaction amongst Lazio fans that they didn’t sign the midfielder.

LazioNews24 suggest that the club was right to not sign Kamada, highlighting some quotes from Angelo Fabiani. The club’s sporting director had given his views on the Kamada saga some weeks ago, saying:

"The best deals are the ones you don’t make."

The outlet's narrative goes along similar lines, as they mention that Lazio have 'no regrets' and are enjoying their time under Baroni, whereas Kamada’s performances for Crystal Palace have been 'anything but brilliant'.

They also state that the ex-Eintracht Frankfurt man isn’t living up to the expectations of fans, with the Eagles currently 18th in the table.

Quite clearly there’s some saltiness here and perhaps Kamada can use that as motivation to improve his impact.
