FA CUP FORM

The hosts for this fixture were on the rod in the previous round and knocked out holders Manchester United in a penalty shoot out at Old Trafford.

The two sides have only met once in the FA Cup, which was in fact their first meeting in 1907. A goalless draw away from home, the Eagles returned to South London to win a replay 1-0.

Only one other occasion have these two sides met in a cup competition, in the League Cup in 1966 which the Eagles lost 2-0 away from home.

FORM PLAYERS ACCORDING TO WHO SCORED

This is the section of our match preview where we list two players from each side that are top of the ratings by our friends over at Who Scored. Obviously, there are no ratings to share at the moment but that will soon change!

ONE TO WATCH

JOACHIM ANDERSEN
FORMER CLUBS – Greve Fodbold, Copenhagen, Midtjylland, Twente, Jong Twente, Sampdoria, Lyon, Fulham (loan), Crystal Palace
A player we know very well who had a torrid time in the recent league fixture at Craven Cottage, and after netting past his own goalkeeper in that fixture he will be keen to make a better impression in this cup tie.

KEY CLASH

JEAN-PHILIPPE MATETA v JOACHIM ANDERSEN
The two former teammates will be going up against each other in what will be one of several intriguing battles across the pitch. More important, this sees the return of the Frenchman to the Palace attack after being on the end of a horrid injury in the previous round.

THE NUMBERS

This is just the second time Fulham and Palace have met in the FA Cup, with the Eagles winning a second-round replay in February 1907.

Fulham progressed from their first 4 FA Cup quarter-finals between 1957-58 and 2001-02, but have been eliminated in their 4 since.

Meanwhile, Palace have progressed from 4 of their past 5 FA Cup last-eight ties, only failing in 2018-19 against Watford in this run.

TEB PREDICTION

This will be a very tight game with either side more than capable of edging it. For that reason, it will remain to be seen if being the home side will benefit Fulham with so much on the line, when you consider the make of the teams that remain in the competition. We know nothing when it comes to the prediction but we are backing the boys to get us back to Wembley – just!

PREDICTED SCORE: 2-1 Palace after AET
