The Eagles are on the road this weekend looking to build on their first win of the season against Spurs.

Ahead of the trip to Molineux, we had a chat to the guys at We Are Wolves Fans to get their view on the season so far, thoughts on the fixture and plenty more….

TEB – Are you happy with the summer transfer business by Wolves? Were there any areas not strengthened that should have been?

WAWF – I would say no, not completely satisfied with it. We have a striker in Strand Larsen through the door which has been a big problem for past seasons but to sell our captain Max Kilman and not replace him at the back with an experienced defender was criminal. Now Yerson Mosquera is injured, we are short at the back and also not very good either, as you know we have conceded more than anyone this season. So I’d say we should’ve brought in another centre half.

TEB – Wolves have struggled so far this season after a tough run of opening fixtures. What are your thoughts so far and what can Palace expect to face in terms of football style?

WAWF – I think it’s the toughest start on paper ever in the Premier League, I’ve read that somewhere, but don’t believe everything you see on the internet. In terms of style, I think that’s something Wolves are really lacking, we don’t have a style of play and we’re not sure what to expect as fans ourselves. I think the one play we look for is to soak up pressure and hit on the counter, which I’m sure we’ll try and do on Saturday.

TEB – Are you happy with Gary O’Neil in charge and is he the man to take your club forward?

WAWF – I think that’s a question that if you asked all Wolves fans, wouldn’t be a good read for Gary O’Neil. It feels like the majority lean towards him leaving and a fresh start. It’s a tough one though. We have had a tough start in terms of opposition but we ended last season really poorly too. For me, I’ll judge him after these next run of games. If we’re still bang in trouble after this run until December, then maybe it’s time for a change.

TEB – Expectations for this season?

WAWF – Expectations this season were to hopefully push into the top half of the table, but that’s gone horribly wrong so far and looks like we’re in the middle of a relegation battle already. I’d say just staying up is the objective now but compared to expectations, it still would have been a poor season if we do.

TEB – It’s fair to say Wolves have been embroiled in VAR controversy and discussions since Gary O’Neil took over. What are your thoughts on the technology overall?

WAWF – The technology is used incorrectly at times for me but it’s also down to perception of the person running it, as it always will be. Human error was easier to accept when you don’t have hundreds of replays from different angles, and they still get a lot more wrong than they should. The pressure is on officials now more than ever, so they need to be correct and a lot of the time they aren’t which brings negative attention to it and towards them. The game has lost a lot of emotion, officials are too focused on making the right decision that they’ve killed the fan experience. If it was up to me, I’d get rid.

TEB – If you could sign one current player from Palace, who would it be?

WAWF – It’s between Ebere Eze and Marc Guehi for me, which probably doesn’t come as a surprise as they’re both unbelievable players, but with what Wolves currently need, I’d say Guehi as we’re poor defensively.

TEB – Favourite away day in the Premier League?

WAWF – Favourite away day for me is Spurs, because we always seem to win there, but it’s also an unbelievable stadium.

TEB – Predictions for the game including final score?

I think that it will be a cagey affair. Palace will be confident they can hurt us with our poor defensive record. Palace also have a good record against us. It’s hard to see which way this will go as both teams are coming off the back of good results. With Palace being better defensively, I’d unfortunately have to say a 2-1 loss for us as I don’t think we’ll contain the likes of Eze and Jean-Philippe Mateta.
