Everton vs Newcastle: Predicted Line-Up | Branthwaite Doubt
Yesterday at 05:00 AM
How will the Blues line up against the Magpies?
A win. Finally. The clouds parted over Goodison Park last week, but can the skies remain blue when Newcastle come to visit?
And, critically, how will Mr Dyche line up his Everton side?
Who's Out?
Not a tonne of change on the injury front.
Coleman, Chermiti and Broja are all out for a while yet.
Nathan Patterson is getting very close, but he'll probably aim to play the full 90 minutes for Everton under-21s on Friday night instead. Then he should be back, fingers crossed.
The only worry is that the magnificent Jarrod Branthwaite has a thigh complaint and has been described as touch and go.
It's no coincidence that the Blues looked miles better with him in the side last week, so hopefully he's available, but equally it would be a massive blow to risk him and lose him for longer.
EVERTON SQUAD AVAILABLE VS NEWCASTLE
Goalkeepers: Pickford, Virginia, Begovic
Defenders: Keane, Branthwaite (DOUBT), Tarkowski, O'Brien, Mykolenko, Coleman (INJURED), Patterson (INJURED), Young, Dixon
Midfielders: Doucoure, Gueye, Garner, Iroegbuman, Mangala, Armstrong
Wingers: McNeil, Harrison, Ndiaye, Lindstrom
Attackers: Calvert-Lewin, Beto, Chermiti (INJURED), Broja (INJURED)
Tactics and Formation
Let's assume that Dyche errs on the side of caution and leaves big Jarrod out for this one.
Hopefully that would mean Jake O'Brien gets a first start, rather than the seemingly cursed Michael Keane. But Keane will probably get the nod in truth.
Young at right back, Mykolenko at left-back.
Other than that, there won't be many changes from the team that beat Palace, except for Harrison coming in for Lindstrom.
