Will Moyes change things for his second game back?

The honeymoon was short lived and now David Moyes is quickly realising the difficulty of the task ahead for the final months at Goodison Park.

Simply put: Everton need to find a way to score goals.

So how will Moyes line up his Blues for his second game in charge?

Who's Out?

It looks like Broja's time is up at the club, with him now being ruled out for 12 weeks – meaning the club are scrambling to cancel his loan deal and return him to Chelsea.

Chermiti, Iroegbunam, Garner and Coleman also remain out for this one.

James Garner has returned to full training. It seems risky to involve him straight back in the squad, but with numbers tight it's possible.

Tactics and Formation

Having just been in the job for a few days ahead of the Villa, it was understandable that Moyes didn't make any drastic changes to the line-up.

But that game should have given the Scot the chance to see the team's challenges close up and hopefully realise the need for some changes in the coming games

Moyes lined-up slightly differently to Dyche last time out, starting with a 4-2-3-1 rather than a 4-4-1-1, with the notable difference being that the full-backs where clearly instructed to push forward more. He then switched to a 5-3-2 setup for the closing stages, which might not seem a bad option going forward due to the team's lack of effective wingers.

My inkling is that he'll start with a back three this time out as that gives us a few more options in an attacking sense.

Nathan Patterson would be the ideal option at right wing-back, although he didn't feature against Spurs. If not, Ashley Young could do a job.

O'Brien could get his first league start if so, with him and Branthwaite flanking Tarkowski at the back, with Mykolenko at left-back.

Switching to a wing-back system would enable Ndiaye to move into the number 10 role that Blues are desperate to see him featured in, with Gueye and Mangala holding.

Up top, that would also allow us to play two strikers, although our options are only Beto and Calvert-Lewin at the moment – although young Martin Sherif got a spot on the bench last time out and may feature if the opportunity arises. Nevertheless, the Blues need to try something different in the pursuit of goals and this seems like a feasible option to try.
