The Friedkin Group are continuing to insist that the purchase of Everton does not change their plans for Roma.

That's according to Il Messaggero, via Corriere Giallorossa, who say the American group are determined to turn things around in the Italian capital.

The Friedkins are set to take over at Everton before the end of the year, with a deal now in place with Farhad Moshiri and being assessed by the relevant authorities.

The move to Merseyside has long created fear among the Roma fanbase that they will become second in the rankings, despite the Friedkin Group and various reports insisting that will not be the case.

Il Messagero echo that today, reporting that 'circles close to Trigoria' are continuing to insist that 'the purchase of Everton has not changed their plans'.

Roma, as far as the Americans are concerned, remain a strong point in their business and they are continuing to push ahead with plans to strengthen the Italian club. This includes the construction of a new stadium, which they hope to present by the end of the year.

The Roma owners are also looking to repair fan relations after a turbulent few months following the sacking of Daniele de Rossi.

They are publically accepting that they have made mistakes and taken the wrong paths and want to correct that. This includes acknowledging the mistake of hiring CEO Lino Souloukou. They're currently focused on finding her replacement and will ensure this is someone who 'knows Italian football' and can act as a 'glue' to bring the club together.

There is also a determination to bring results on the pitch but initiatives to bring the fans back on side, such as consultations over the club's brand and badge and an officialisation of the club's birth date will be brought to the table.

The plan is a clear one, get the Roma fans back on side and prove that the purchase of Everton has diverted their attentions.
