Nottingham Forest returned to winning ways against Ipswich and also kept a fifth clean sheet of the Premier League campaign.

Ipswich were the visitors to the City Ground and after a win over Tottenham and a draw with Manchester United, they arrived in fine fettle.

However, a ninth Chris Wood strike of the season gave Forest the win after poor results against Newcastle and Arsenal.

Wood is now joint top on the list of all-time goalscorers for Forest in the Premier League era.

It was a much-needed victory for the Reds who now have an extremely tough run of fixtures to come in the Premier League in the coming weeks.

Forest did claim a big three points but naturally, the big talking point was all around the clean sheet.

The Reds had conceded six goals in two games prior to yesterday and it was vital that the team reverted to basics and kept a clean sheet.

Dion Dublin hails two Nottingham Forest players after win vs Ipswich

The Match of the Day pundit was quizzed on the Forest display during last night’s show and he was impressed.

Forest did make one change with Neco Williams coming in for Alex Moreno who dropped out of the team.

It was a change that did work with Nikola Milenkovic and Murillo once again the two players in fine form.

Dublin said: “They were solid at the back.

“I mean, Murillo and (Nikola) Milenkovic are absolutely brilliant. They just stay in that centre-back spot, they’re side by side and they’re always making sure there isn’t a gap.

“Milenkovic is always in control.”

Forest now have a £100m defensive unit

With Milenkovic and Murillo at the back, Forest have a defensive unit to be proud of and it’s probably worth an absolute fortune.

Murillo is valued at in excess of £70 million and Milenkovic is surely worth around £50 million to Forest taking into consideration the impact he’s had on the team.

The recruitment at Forest has been the subject of ridicule in recent times but that is no longer an argument for outsiders.

Players like Murillo and Milenkovic prove that Forest are doing things right when it comes to attracting players and long may the savvy approach to signing players continue.
