Nottingham Forest defeated Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday to maintain a fourth-place position in the Premier League.
The Reds won 2-0 thanks to Ola Aina and Anthony Elanga goals as the Bees lost on home soil for the first time this season.
Brian Laws hailed Nuno Espirito Santo for his tactical tweak after the game as the Forest head coach lined up with three central defenders.
Forest had a number of top performers against Brentford and some players came in for some praise from various pundits afterwards.
Kenny Cunningham raves about Nottingham Forest star Murillo
Manchester City considered signing Murillo before he went to Forest and Pep Guardiola might be kicking himself.
Murillo has shone since a £10.6 million move to Forest in the summer of 2023 and he’s one of the top defenders in the Premier League.
Cunningham is a huge fan of the player and he doesn’t believe Forest will be in any rush to sell Murillo any time soon.
He told Premier Sports TV: “They’ve got him on a long-term contract so there’s no rush to sell him, his value is only going to increase I’d suggest. If he’s happy to stay there and this is why European football is so important when you make an argument to the player to stay and improve.
“We’ve spoken about him after three of four of these Forest performances and it’s amazing, I think he’s only six foot, maybe six one, he’s wide, he’s so confident and you really feel like he’s got a strong personality.”
Forest can command a fortune for Murillo
Any top European club that wants to sign Murillo in the future had better get ready to dig deep into their pockets.
Had Forest been struggling again this season then the Reds might have been restricted in terms of what they can command for Murillo.
However, with European football in the team’s sights, there is a possibility that Murillo might even stay, with Forest likely to demand in excess of £70 million at this stage.
Murillo is only 22-years-old and has time on his side when it comes to playing for a bigger club than Forest.
Right now, he’s playing regularly for Forest and if the club can remain ambitious this season perhaps the Brazilian could be kept on Trentside.
