Nottingham Forest more than stood their ground as they grabbed a point against league leaders Liverpool at the City Ground.

Nuno Espirito Santo set his side up perfectly to tackle the challenges of Liverpool, with an early Chris Wood goal causing an eruption.

That now sees Nottingham Forest move ahead of Arsenal into second place and it’s a point proven to any doubters who thought the Reds couldn’t hold their own against Arne Slot’s side.

It was the defensive work in the second half that really highlighted the massive improvements since last season, with Murillo playing a standout role in it all.

However, one man who wasn’t too happy in the second half was Liverpool boss Arne Slot, who was spotted fuming at one thing Nottingham Forest did.

Arne Slot fuming as he accuses Nottingham Forest of time wasting

Arne Slot has been known to make a comment or two about Nottingham Forest this season, as they still remain the only side to have beaten them.

He’s spent that long talking about Forest this season that he should know the way they play and the type of tactics Nuno deploys, but it didn’t seem like it.

Interestingly, prior to Liverpool’s goal, Arne Slot could be seen fuming at what he believed was time wasting coming from Nottingham Forest.

Sky Sports’ Adam Bate spotted the frustration.

“Slot is getting very annoyed by what he perceives as Forest’s time-wasting.

“Liverpool struggling to build up momentum.”

Matz Sels saved the day for Nottingham Forest

Nuno Espirito Santo will be very thankful for Matz Sels’ display in the second half, as he pulled off a number of incredible saves to keep the score at 1-1.

He made five saves, one punch, three saves from inside his box, 31 touches, completed nine long balls and made one clearance.

This isn’t the first time he’s been on top form this season, as Darren Bent has called Sels ‘fantastic’ for his performances so far this season.
