Nottingham Forest are still looking to provide the City Ground crowd with their first victory of the season.

The Reds have had no issues on the road with their three away games having provided seven of their nine points.

Nuno Espirito Santo can be more than satisfied with Forest‘s start to the season as they remain one of the only unbeaten sides in the league.

But they will be coming up against a Fulham side on Saturday which sit only a point behind the Reds after the opening five games.

And Forest are already being warned about what could unfold over the coming weeks despite having made an unbeaten start.

Paul Merson issues Nottingham Forest warning

Forest are returning to the City Ground without their prized asset following Morgan Gibbs-White’s red card against Brighton & Hove Albion.

But Forest have plenty of options at Nuno’s disposal for Saturday with Gibbs-White’s absence offering an opportunity to some of the other midfielders to show their worth.

And the Fulham manager Marco Silva has already admitted that Elliot Anderson could offer a real threat for the Reds.

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has, however, warned Forest of remaining unbeaten but without picking up enough wins.

“Fulham are one of those teams in the league who can upset the big boys in my opinion. But I still think they’d only get a draw here,” he told Sportskeeda.

“This would mean that Forest will continue to remain unbeaten, but they must be careful of not picking up too many draws. If you’re on an unbeaten streak with five draws, it’s no good. You’d be in trouble the moment you suffer that first defeat.

“For me, this is game Forest should really be looking to win since they’re playing at home. But they will still be happy with a point, not a bad start for them.”

Nottingham Forest need to end their winless run at the City Ground

So far this season, Forest have drawn at home against Bournemouth and Wolves with just two points taken from a possible six.

And in both of those games Forest have allowed their lead to slip which will have been of huge frustration to the home crowd.

The City Ground has not seen a victory since April and coincidentally that came against Fulham with the Reds winning 3-1.

Although Merson’s warning may come after just five games, there is certainly some truth in what he’s said but all Forest fans would surely have taken an unbeaten start.
