Willy Boly has been a solid servant for Nottingham Forest but his future is far from certain.

Nottingham Forest signed Willy Boly all the way back in 2022 from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The central defender has only appeared 39 times in the few seasons he’s now been at the club, with just two of those appearances coming this season.

No one can really blame Boly for being out of the side and struggling to get in it, as Murillo and Nikola Milenkovic have been simply unmovable.

With his contract set to run out in June and a lack of minutes right now, it’s led to an alleged offer from Saudi Arabia, and Graeme Bailey has provided an update on the situation.

An update on Willy Boly’s future at Nottingham Forest

Speaking exclusively to Nottingham Forest News, Graeme Bailey has stated that Willy Boly won’t be on his way out of Nottingham Forest in January.

“I did hear he was being linked with a move to Wolves at one point.

“Obviously he will be surplus to requirements in the long-term given the form of Murillo and Milenkovic. But I don’t think Forest will let him go in January, I don’t think they’d leave themselves that short.

“He’s obviously not playing but he’s been on the bench a lot for Forest. I don’t think they’d want to leave themselves that short given the run they’re making at the moment.

“And Wolves for their part, probs would want someone a bit more long-term than Boly – who would not be anything more than a stop-gap at this point.

“They are looking at options and they are confident of bringing a central defender in, early in January.”

Willy Boly’s offer from Saudi Arabia

It was reported recently that Willy Boly had received an offer to play in Saudi.

Al-Riyadh have offered a contract to Boly ahead of 2025 and given the money available to Saudi clubs, it's likely to be tempting.

This isn’t a bid, simply a contract offer ahead of his current deal expiring at the City Ground.

Nuno Espirito Santo leaned on him a lot at Wolves, especially his leadership at times, so as Graeme says, it’s unlikely he’ll end up leaving in January but it does look like the last chance to cash in on him.
