Paul Merson loves a Premier League prediction and he’s ended up making an interesting one involving Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea.

Not many would have predicted that Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side would be unbeaten after the first fives games of the season.

Nottingham Forest certainly won’t frown upon the start they’ve made to the season, despite slipping up in a disappointing performance last time out.

However, Forest have the chance to put things right against Chelsea next up in the Premier League, with a trip to Stamford Bridge.

It won’t be an easy game as Cole Palmer is the form man in the Premier League right now, fresh off a four-goal display against Brighton and Hove Albion.

Interestingly, Paul Merson has made his score line prediction ahead of Sunday, and he feels as if it’s going to be goals galore in the capital.

Paul Merson makes prediction for Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea

Paul Merson stated that a draw would be really good for Nottingham Forest against Brighton a couple of weeks back and that ended up coming true.

His prediction for Forest vs Fulham was pretty accurate too as he warned the home side about Marco Silva’s side, though he did think it would be a draw at best for the London club.

He’s now given his prediction for this week and it doesn’t look good for Forest.

When writing his column for Sportskeeda, Merson thinks it will be 4-2 to Chelsea.

“I expect a really entertaining game. Make no mistake, this is a difficult and dangerous game for Chelsea. Nottingham Forest are always a threat on the counter attack, they’ve already won at Anfield.

“Chelsea don’t look very comfortable at the back. If you press them, chances will open up for you. But if Forest do press high up the pitch, then that leaves them a bit thin at the back as well.

“I just can’t see Chelsea not scoring goals, but also I can’t see Forest not scoring against the Blues’ defence either. That’s why I think there’ll be plenty of goals in this game.”

The return of Morgan Gibbs-White

Morgan Gibbs-White missed the loss to Fulham due to serving a suspension.

The Englishman will slot straight back into his normal role, with Nuno Espirito Santo hoping his creativity can make life easier for Chris Wood or Taiwo Awoniyi this time round.

It’ll be the battle of England’s two number 10s at Stamford Bridge.
