Nottingham Forest drew 1-1 with Chelsea on Sunday as Forest maintained their unbeaten record away from the City Ground.

Forest played their part in a really entertaining clash at Stamford Bridge, with the Reds actually taking the lead in the contest.

The Blues were stunned into action and were only behind for a short while with Noni Madueke restoring parity for the in-form hosts.

Forest had a number of top performers during the contest, with Matz Sels drawing praise from his opposite number Robert Sanchez.

The whole back four played pretty well and Nikola Milenkovic belied his transfer fee of just £12 million with a tidy showing again.

It was a real team performance that ensured Forest got something for their efforts and ultimately, the team can be very proud of their efforts.

Nottingham Forest star praised by Stephen Warnock

It was a very strong showing from Forest in West London and a point was the absolute least that Nuno Espirito Santo’s team deserved.

The game was marred from a Forest perspective with an injury to Morgan Gibbs-White and the club now faces an anxious wait over the prognosis.

Warnock picked out the goalscorer, Chris Wood for praise in this one and he felt that the Forest striker was brilliant once again.

He said on Match of the Day 2: “They’ve got Morgan Gibbs-White, Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi, it’s pace in attack.

“But, I’ve got to say Chris Wood is outstanding. Not only his goals but as a focal point he takes the pressure off the rest of the team.”

Forest might have a decision to make on Chris Wood

Although the striker is now 33-years-old, he is scoring goals and giving Forest a bit of a conundrum when it comes to his contract.

Wood will see his current deal end in the summer next year and he might fancy staying with the Premier League outfit.

Although it’s inevitable that Forest will sign another striker either in January or next summer, Wood is a player who has been in fine form under Espirito Santo.

He’s now scored 16 goals in the top flight since the Forest head coach took over and that is not form to be dismissed.

The Premier League is a tough league to get goals in and Wood is arguably playing the best football of his career now.

Wood is among the top-earning players at the City Ground but if he keeps scoring he’ll be worth his weight in gold to Forest and a decision will need to be made.
