Nottingham Forest face Chelsea this afternoon at Stamford Bridge and the game is finely poised at the half-time interval.

The Reds went with a bold team selection deployed by Nuno Espirito Santo as the team looked to stifle a rampant Chelsea.

Forest have done a decent job in large during the first half and have kept Chelsea frustrated at times – with Cole Palmer the in-form man in the division right now.

James Ward-Prowse was once again handed a start in the Forest midfield and he was actually cautioned in the opening 45 minutes.

There was a moment where Forest fans got a glimpse of Ward-Prowse standing over a free-kick – however, the moment won’t live long in the memory…

James Ward-Prowse furious with one Forest teammate

The free-kick specialist found himself a little bit too far out to attempt a shot at Robert Sanchez’s goal.

Instead, he tried to tease one up at the back post, except Nikola Milenkovic wasn’t on the same page as his teammate.

Lee Hendrie is on co-commentary duty for this one and he spotted Ward-Prowse looking very disgruntled.

He said on Optus Sport: “That’s frustrating and it’s no surprise that James Ward-Prowse is furious with that. Milenkovic puts his hand up and quite clearly that wasn’t the plan intended there.”

Ward-Prowse has to be careful on a yellow card and Forest will look to get him on the ball a bit more often should he remain on the pitch.

Forest desperate to do well and togetherness is evident

The Reds are fortunate to have Ward-Prowse and Nikola Milenkovic in their ranks, with both players very important.

Naturally, Milenkovic made Ward-Prowse look a little bit silly by not continuing his run and he did apologise straight away.

Next time, the midfielder might be better served to simply go for goal and perhaps that will be in his thoughts.

Ward-Prowse scored a winning goal at Stamford Bridge as a Southampton player and it’s a club he has enjoyed success over before.

Forest are probably a little bit fortunate to go in level at the break and it will be fascinating to see how the second half progresses.
