Elliot Anderson has checked in at Nottingham Forest and he’s made his first post on social media since leaving Newcastle United.

The 21-year-old has left the Magpies after a number of years in the North East, rising through the youth ranks to play first-team football for his boyhood club.

Anderson has been a solid enough player under Eddie Howe’s management and in total, he’s made 44 appearances in the Premier League.

Not only has Anderson sent his first message to the Forest fan base after his arrival from Newcastle but a former Reds star has welcomed him to the club.

The youngster will meet his teammates when the team returns for pre-season training and it would appear that he’s raring to go.

This deal has been wrapped up pretty quickly. Anderson was linked with Forest on Friday and by Sunday night the deal had been announced.

The youngster has now posted on social media some photographs of him in some Forest training gear and posted a heartfelt message.

He said on X: “Proud to be joining such a historic football club! Can’t wait to meet my new teammates and get started.”

Anderson is actually snapped with Miltos Marinakis in one of the pictures and perhaps he was instrumental in this deal.

Ross Wilson confirmed yesterday that Anderson was a player that the club have been looking at for a little while and claimed delight at getting a deal over the line.

Matty Cash sends message to Elliot Anderson after Forest deal

The Aston Villa star has been forced to miss Euro 2024 with Poland after picking up an injury and that will have hurt him.

However, Cash clearly still has Forest at heart and he’s sent a message to Anderson this afternoon.

Posting on his Instagram message Cash said to Forest’s newest star: “All the best mate! Top club.”

He also posted a flame emoji alongside his message and clearly the right-back thinks Anderson can be a hit on Trentside.

The new Forest recruit has the potential to really star at the City Ground and despite a £35 million transfer fee, this one does feel somewhat exciting.
