Anthony Elanga was in action for Nottingham Forest against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Forest took on Arsenal away from home in North London in the Premier League. Reds head coach Nuno included Elanga in his starting lineup.

The 22-year-old started on the right of an attacking midfield-three in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Callum Hudson-Odoi was on the other flank, and Ryan Yates was deployed as the number 10. Taiwo Awoniyi led the line for the Reds.

Arsenal were expected to win against Forest, and the Gunners did just that. Mikel Arteta's side registered a 3-0 victory, thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka, Thomas Partey and Ethan Nwaneri.

Elanga played well for Forest against Newcastle United, but he struggled to make an impact against Arsenal. The youngster did not play the entire game. Nuno decided to bring off the Sweden international winger at half time.

While the decision could have been due to injury issues, there is no hiding the fact that Elanga was poor in the first half.

The Athletic journalist Paul Taylor noted on X at 4:06pm: "Partey has replied Jorginho for Arsenal at HT… and Jota is coming on for #NFFC…

"He replaces Elanga, who did have a bit of treatment to an injury just before half time."

Will Scarlet @ForestNews_Info: "When Elanga is running down the wing, the best we can hope for is that someone fouls him. 😅 If it comes down to him making a decision or him putting in a cross, you know with absolute certainty that there will be no positive outcome. 🙃 #nffc #ARSNFO"

Anthony Elanga's game in numbers

It was a disappointing day at the office at Forest, and like some other players, Elanga too had a bad game against Arsenal.

The former Manchester United youngster did not have a single shot. He had a pass accuracy of 66.7%, won one header, and took 17 touches of the ball.

The 22-year-old Sweden international winger made two clearances and put in one cross during his time on the pitch at the Emirates Stadium in North London on Saturday.
