Nottingham Forest players are getting linked with clubs left, right and centre after an incredible first half of the season.

Nuno Espirito Santo almost didn’t return to Nottingham Forest in the summer due to personal reasons, but now he finds himself in charge of the second best team in the Premier League.

It’s been one hell of a ride for the supporters who never would have imagined the position their side is in, and the best part is it looks like there’s no slowing down anytime soon.

Interestingly, it appears as if the squad will largely be kept together too, as Evangelos Marinakis has revealed it’s his priority to not let any stars leave.

However, one Nottingham Forest player has been told he’d be perfect for Aston Villa.

Ola Aina told he’d be perfect for Aston Villa

Ola Aina has been one of the finds of the decade for Nottingham Forest, as they managed to lure him to the City Ground for absolutely nothing.

He’s shown his versatility with the ability to play at either left-back or right-back, as well as contributing in the final third with goals of his own.

This has led to plenty of attention for the Nigeria international, including a Sky Sports presenter.

Dougie Critchley has said that Ola Aina would be perfect for Aston Villa, stating the fact that he’s set to be a free agent in the summer.

Nottingham Forest working on a new deal for Ola Aina

Nottingham Forest have been working on a new deal for Aina for what feels like an absolute age.

It’s unlikely the defender will have his contract expire as the Reds are doing everything they can to keep him, and he has no reason to want to leave.

The full-back has found friends for life in Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga.

There’s no denying that getting Aina to sign a new deal could be as big as a new signing, as keeping the main crux of the side continues to be the main objective.
