Nottingham Forest have received a boost ahead of the January transfer window, as a summer target has opened the door for a move.

Nuno Espirito Santo had a busy summer transfer window, bringing 11 players to the City Ground.

However, not all of them have stayed with Forest for this season, as the likes of David Carmo and Marko Stamenic have gone on loan to Olympiacos.

Elliot Anderson and Nikola Milenkovic have been the standouts in terns of signings this season, with both men now fully established starts when fit and ready.

And it looks as if there’s already a target on the radar for January, as Nottingham Forest are set to make an offer for Yuri Alberto.

That’s not all, as it’s come out today that a summer target could be on his way out of his current club in January after hinting at an exit.

Andreas Pereira opens the door for a Nottingham Forest move

Andreas Pereira has established himself as one of the most reliable attacking midfielders in the Premier League over the last few seasons at Fulham.

However, it appears as if he’s slowly getting tired of playing for the Cottagers, as his comments recently were rather eye-opening.

Premier League Brasil have an interview with the midfielder, and he claims that he was looking forward to joining Marseille in the summer.

He also states that Nottingham Forest were interested in him and made an offer.

"From outside (England), there was (an offer) from Marseille, we talked, and unfortunately it didn't work out," he said.

"In the last days (of the transfer window) there was also (an offer) Nottingham Forest. Those were the clubs that came closest to signing me, but there was a lot of interest.

"Since I was on vacation, I was in more contact with him (his agent, Bertolucci). But he always lets me know, he tells me: 'Look, there are clubs interested, let's see what happens'.

"It would be really cool (to go to Marseille), because of the way De Zerbi plays football. I was looking forward to it, but we'll see now in January or at the end of the season if there will be a transfer or if I'll stay at Fulham."

Do Nottingham Forest need a midfielder?

Elliot Anderson and Morgan Gibbs-White have been the advanced midfielders this season, and there’s also Jota Silva who can operate centrally.

Lewis McGugan has already shared his excitement about Anderson this season.

Andreas Pereira has scored just one goal in 12 games in the Premier League this season, and Fulham have been rather inconsistent, which may be slightly turning his head.

However, there really is no need for him.

After all, Nuno Espirito Santo has already had enough trouble trying to fit Anderson and Gibbs-White in the same side after Nicolas Dominguez’s rise.
