Nikola Milenkovic has been nothing short of superb since making his way to Nottingham Forest, but there was one big problem he was aware of before he joined.

Nuno Espirito Santo has already spoken about how key Nikola Milenkovic has been at Nottingham Forest, despite only joining in the summer.

The vocalness of Milenkovic was mentioned as a big selling point of the defender by Nuno, with the Portuguese boss wishing most of his Forest players were like him.

It’s not just Murillo that Chelsea fans were impressed with last time out, as Milenkovic caught their eye and just about everyone in the stadium.

Interestingly, the Serbian watched Nottingham Forest games prior to his move to England, and was aware of one big issues at the City Ground.

Nikola Milenkovic aware of big Nottingham Forest problem last season

Nottingham Forest have one of the best defences in the Premier League, and Milenkovic has played a big part in that alongside Murillo at the heart of the defence.

Milenkovic is already being missed by former club Fiorentina having seen his performances at Forest this season, but there’s no chance they’re getting him back.

According to the Athletic, Nikola Milenkovic watched the Premier League regularly when he was playing in Italy, so he was aware of the problems he had been signed to help Forest solve.

Mainly it was the frailty from set pieces.

Nikola Milenkovic and Murillo’s centre-back partnership

There’s an argument that Milenkovic and Murillo currently make up the best centre-back partnership in the Premier League, and Forest’s defensive record certainly help back up that statement.

Murillo is already attracting the interest of Chelsea.

The fact that Forest signed Milenkovic for just £12 million gets even crazier as games go by, with his new valuation surely pushing at least £30 million.

After all, Murillo has a price tag of around £70 million on his head.
