Nottingham Forest look set for a busy end to the transfer window with very little business done on either front so far this month.

The Reds have signed Wayne Hennessey to their ranks. He’s been added as a third-choice goalkeeper with his attitude impressing Nuno Espirito Santo following a period of training with the club.

Forest have allowed Andrew Omobamidele to join Strasbourg too. He has been restricted in terms of game time and the Ligue 1 outfit gave Omobamidele his debut on Saturday.

In terms of targets, Evangelos Marinakis wants a new forward to arrive before the cut-off. Matheus Cunha has been linked with Forest and he might be a player who Forest try and sign again before the window closes on Monday.

Jamie Redknapp thinks Yoane Wissa will cost £40 million. That could well throw Forest off the scent given that he’s 28-years-old and the Reds would have almost no chance of recouping that money back in the future.

Other pieces of business are still being monitored in the background, however. With that in mind, it would be very surprising if 11pm on Monday elapsed and Forest signed nobody.

Nottingham Forest to make move for Taylan Bulut

According to Bild, Forest are now going to rival Bournemouth for Bulut with the player now looking likely to move before the transfer deadline on Monday.

It’s claimed that Schalke find themselves riddled with debt to the tune of £135 million. With that in mind, the Germany under-19 international is set to be one of the first players out of the door.

Bulut operates as a right-back typically and he is currently valued at under £2 million, with Forest and Bournemouth providing interest from the Premier League.

This feels like an easy signing to complete before the cut-off on Monday night. However, it looks unlikely to be a priority given that Bulut would likely arrive with the future in mind.

Bulut could jump ahead of compatriot in Forest pecking order

In the summer, the Reds landed Eric da Silva Moreira from St Pauli and he’s made first-team outings so far this season, producing solid performances when called upon.

He also plays as a right-back for the Germany under-19 team and perhaps that makes Bulut a somewhat intriguing signing for Forest to make.

The difference with Bulut is that he does have some men’s football to his name. He’s made 17 appearances for the German second-tier outfit and Forest clearly see something in him.

Furthermore, he doesn’t always play as a right-back. Bulut has played as a centre-back for Schalke during the current campaign and that would give him another string to the bow.

Both Bulut and Moreira can be future regulars in the Forest team and it does feel as though this would be an easy deal for the Reds to complete if they really wanted him this month.
