Nottingham Forest look to have cracked it when it comes to recruitment after years of trying to hit the jackpot.

Since winning promotion to the Premier League, Forest have endured some bittersweet results when it comes to signing players.

The first summer back as a Premier League club saw Forest sign 23 players, with a further seven following in January.

Last summer, Forest did some good business with two players signing who Jamie Carragher believes are better than Brennan Johnson; Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga.

This time around, Forest made 11 new signings, with two – Marko Stamenic and David Carmo – joining Olympiacos on loan for the season.

Despite the window now being closed, Forest are leaving no stone unturned ahead of January and it appears targets are already being looked at.

Nottingham Forest want Burnley star Luca Koleosho

According to Football Insider, the Reds are lining up a move to try and land Burnley winger Koleosho during the January transfer window.

It looked a bit like a case of the last one out turning off the light at Turf Moor this summer, but Koleosh remains in the North West.

Burnley signed him from Espanyol and he was a leading light last season despite the Clarets getting relegated from the Premier League.

He only made 15 appearances before a knee injury curtailed his season but when he played he looked extremely talented.

Forest aren’t the only club eyeing a move for the 20-year-old, with a host of Premier League clubs fancying him including Newcastle.

What Scott Parker thinks of Luca Koleosho

It’s fair to say that the Burnley boss is delighted to still have the player around the football club and has said as much.

Koleosho has played five of the six Championship games that Burnley have played this season, scoring twice.

Parker has been extremely impressed with the versatile winger and raved about him recently.

He told the Burnley Express: “Luca is far from the finished article and I say that with real excitement. It’s pretty incredible because I think we all realise what a fantastic player he is, but he’s getting on the training field and always wanting to do more.”

Forest are always on the search for talented youngsters and Koleosho looks like a wanted man when the window reopens.

Wingers were on the agenda during the summer window with Jota Silva and Ramon Sosa both added to the ranks.

Elanga is one player who has been linked with a move away from Forest and perhaps Koleosho would be lined up should the Swedish international press to leave the City Ground.
