Steve Cooper’s time at Nottingham Forest ended negatively after a continuous downward spiral at the City Ground.

Nuno Espirito Santo has completely turned things around, with Nottingham Forest now a very versatile team who play the opposition that’s in front of them, and it’s working so far.

The Reds sit in tenth position after seven games in the Premier League, providing Nuno with the chance to build on results and chase a European place like he did at Wolves.

Interestingly, Nuno has already been praised for supercharging Ryan Yates and Morgan Gibbs-White this season. It’s clear the players really want to give their all for him.

However, managerial life isn’t working so well for Steve Cooper, who has been given an ultimatum ahead of his next match in charge of Leicester City.

Steve Cooper given an ultimatum ahead of Southampton clash

Steve Cooper has only lost three games so far this season as Leicester City boss, drawing three and winning one which puts them outside the relegation places.

However, the fans are growing impatient with the football he’s playing at Leicester City and the board clearly aren’t too happy either.

According to Leicester City News, he has been given an ultimate for the Southampton clash, just one game prior to facing Nottingham Forest.

It’s stated that the club's hierarchy are aware of the supporters' frustration, which first began when he was appointed as Maresca's successor – following a breakdown in talks with Graham Potter.

He’s under immense pressure and it’s understood his position could come under threat if City suffer defeat at Southampton after the international break.

Steve Cooper’s time at Nottingham Forest

The one highlight for Steve Cooper was winning the Championship play-off final at Wembley and celebrating a return to the top flight.

He managed to keep Forest up as they finished in16th last season, which was mainly down to the superb form of the Reds at the City Ground.

At the time of his sacking, Forest had won just twice away from home since returning to the top flight and had only earned 13 points from their 28 away fixtures.

Forest won 12 of their 55 Premier League games, with only one of those victories coming in their past 13 matches, but Nuno Espirito Santo came in and saved the day.

Roy Keane believed Cooper had done a good job.
