Steve Cooper refused to play £21m star at Nottingham Forest, now he's wanted by Liverpool

Nottingham Forest have been extremely smart with their recruitment over the past year, but there is a player who we let slip away back in 2022.
Evangelos Marinakis has had his fair share of wasted signings, but recently the transfer business being conducted has been of the highest order.
Nottingham Forest secured the services of Nikola Milenkovic and Elliot Anderson in the summer for a combined £49 million, and they’re arguably worth double that and more now.
Milenkovic has already attracted Newcastle’s attention, whilst Anderson has filled his former club with regret about having to let him leave in the summer.
However, it’s not always been pretty on the transfer front, as Steve Cooper made a mistake in 2023.
Loic Bade now set to join Liverpool as one of Europe’s most sought after central defenders
Loic Bade joined Nottingham Forest on loan back in 2022, but ended up back at his parent club in January of 2023 after terminating his deal.
He failed to even make an appearance at the City Ground, which was down to Steve Cooper’s refusal to play him in his side at the time.
Cooper and Nottingham Forest will no doubt be full of regret, as he’s established himself as one of the best centre-backs in Europe over the past year.
It was reported in October that Loic Bade has a valuation of £50 million and was being looked at by Liverpool and Newcastle United.
And he now looks like he’ll rock up at Liverpool as a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk.
Where is Loic Bade nowadays?
Loic Bade currently plays his football over in Spain at Sevilla.
He’s a French centre-back who builds his game around pace and strength, which has seen him dominate some of the world’s best attackers over in La Liga.
The Frenchman stands at 1.91m. This makes his seven centimeters taller than Murillo and four centimeters smaller than Milenkovic to put it into perspective.
Nottingham Forest don’t need a centre-back right now given the start Milenkovic and Murillo have made together at the City Ground, but it’s still annoying to know he didn’t even get a chance at Forest.
