Nottingham Forest beat Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield for the first time since 1969 in a competitive fixture, with Callum Hudson-Odoi scoring the only goal of the game.

It was a remarkable victory for the Reds against a side who hadn’t conceded a goal all game prior to the weekend’s visit from Forest.

A Nuno Espirito Santo masterclass on the tactic front left Liverpool to lick their wounds after a first defeat of the season, whilst Forest go to Brighton still unbeaten.

After the game, the celebrations were wild. The players took the appreciation from the travelling army of supporters who partied long into the night on Merseyside.

Hudson-Odoi is now off the mark for the campaign. His trademark strike with 18 minutes to go left Alisson stranded – and in the mood to take aim at Forest afterwards.

What Ola Aina said to Callum Hudson-Odoi during Forest celebrations

The Reds have dropped a matchday pass video that normally follows a win and Forest fans will enjoy reliving the celebrations.

Hudson-Odoi was front and centre of the Forest fan base, and they all sang his name following his Anfield heroics.

Aina is normally never too far away when celebrations are ongoing and came rushing over to take the ovation from the fan base along with Hudson-Odoi.

He was spotted on the matchday pass video posted by the club pointing at Hudson-Odoo and saying: “It’s what he does!”

Hudson-Odoi has now scored nine goals during his time at the football club and at £3 million he looks like an absolute steal.

Hudson-Odoi is one of Forest’s best pieces of business since promotion

Selling Brennan Johnson after just one season in the Premier League wasn’t ideal but whilst the £50 million player is struggling to impress the Tottenham fan base, Hudson-Odoi has kicked on.

The talented winger simply needed to play football after spending so long in the doldrums at Chelsea amid a waft of signings to play in his position.

Forest tried their luck when it came to getting Hudson-Odoi and the player has proved his worth at the City Ground, with £3 million making a mockery of the transfer market.

The 23-year-old is a different kind of player to Johnson to a certain extent but right now, he’s certainly proving a better player for Forest than the academy graduate did.

The frightening thing is that Hudson-Odoi can still get even better and hopefully, there will be more to come from him as this season progresses at Forest.
