Fulham will block Pereira move

Fulham will prevent Andreas Pereira from joining Palmeiras this month as they consider the Brazilian midfielder as a pivotal player in their European push, according to the Standard.
Pereira has been the subject of frenzied transfer speculation since he gave an interview to a Brazilian outlet in November discussing his interest in leaving Craven Cottage. Palmeiras have had two approaches for the 29 year-old rejected, whilst Monaco, Nottingham Forest and Marseille were also interested in signing the former Manchester United midfielder last summer. Marseille, whose manager Roberto de Zerbi has identified Pereira as a potential transfer target, had a £20m bid rejected back in August.
Pereira has started fifteen of Fulham’s nineteen league games this term as Marco Silva’s side have surpassed expectations to sit eighth in the top flight and have genuine hopes of qualifying for continental competition. The attacking midfielder was dropped for the 1-1 draw at Tottenham Hotspur in the aftermath of his contentious comments, for which he apologised to the club, but has since returned to Silva’s starting line-up, playing 72 minutes of the Whites’ first win at Stamford Bridge since 1979.
