Arne Slot hasn’t been afraid to give younger players a chance at Liverpool at times this season and it certainly looks like it’s paid off.

Liverpool will be desperate to come away from the international break with all their main stars still in good health after a perfect start to the season.

One worry that Liverpool had recently was Alexis Mac Allister’s well-being, as it was reported that he was in pain and suffering from muscle load issues.

However, Mac Allister took to his Instagram to state that he was ready for his nation’s game against Chile.

And, he ended up starting the game and even bagged a goal in a 3-0 win for Argentina.

He isn’t the only Liverpool player who has impressed this week as a certainly 21-year-old put in a Man of the Match display…

Jarell Quansah steals the show in Man of the Match performance for England Under-21s

Jarell Quansah started the Reds’ first game of the season alongside Virgil van Dijk but was taken off at half-time by Arne Slot and replaced by Ibrahim Konate.

The youngster hasn’t been able to break back into the side in the Premier League but that hasn’t stopped him from impressing for the Under-21s.

England Under-21s drew 0-0 with the Northern Ireland Under-21s last night and Quansah ended up picking up the Man of the Match award for his accomplished display.

He made four interceptions, had 113 touches of the ball, won two of his four duels and had 93% passing accuracy.

Arne Slot has a decision to make

Jarell Quansah was told that he has let himself down already this season by Gary Gillespie, but the outside noise doesn’t look to have fazed him.

To be showing the maturity and quality that the 21-year-old is at his age is just remarkable.

He’s still very much learning the game and gaining experience against some of the best players in the world in the Premier League, so there’s no rush to give him a crazy amount of minutes.

However, with the Champions League starting soon and the schedules getting packed, there will no doubt be plenty of opportunities for the centre-back to impress.

Afterall, if Arne Slot wasn’t a fan of him then he wouldn’t have chosen him to start the opening game.
