'49ers ready to throw Daniel Farke under the bus after controversial Leeds news'

Daniel Farke’s future is looking precarious at Leeds United after his bosses heaped additional pressure on him amid a tightening promotion battle.
The Whites remain top of the Championship table, but with just one victory in their last four matches, Sheffield United and Burnley have been given the opportunity to catch up.
Chris Wilder‘s side are now joint-top on points, separated by quite a stark difference in goal difference, with the Clarets just two points behind and eight matches remaining.
Parts of the Elland Road faithful might be suffering flashbacks from last season, having battled Leicester City and Ipswich Town right until the final game, only to slip into the play-offs and lose in the final to Southampton.
49ers Enterprises cannot afford to miss out on Premier League promotion
Thanks to financial concerns, heartbreak in the Championship play-off final saw Archie Gray up and move to Tottenham, with Crysencio Summerville joining West Ham and Georginio Rutter joining Brighton.
The likes of Pascal Struijk, Wilfried Gnonto and Ao Tanaka are already being linked with Leeds exits, and without being promoted to the top tier of English football, the club would have no leg to stand on once again.
Championship standings | Goal difference | Points |
1. Leeds United | +51 | 80 |
2. Sheffield United | +25 | 80 |
3. Burnley | +41 | 78 |
Supporters are well aware of the difficulties of gaining promotion from the Championship, having been stuck in the second tier for 17 years until 2020, and the owners appear to be preparing financially.
Leeds have announced a 14 per cent ticket price rise ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, regardless of which league the Whites are playing in next season which has, unsurprisingly, caused uproar.
49ers Enterprises will be in no mood to take the majority of the blame should the team miss out on promotion this year, meaning Farke is highly likely to take the fall this summer if he doesn’t get this side over the line.
Daniel Farke at risk of losing Leeds United job without promotion
Having won two promotions with Norwich City, albeit while being relegated straight back down the following season, the growing pressure at Elland Road ultimately falls on his shoulders.
With rival fans already singing “Leeds are falling apart again”, those in West Yorkshire are growing concerned that a repeat of last season could be emerging.
If that were to happen, the 49ers are unlikely to skip a beat when sacking Farke this summer before heading into their final season of parachute payments, and possibly a final chance before getting stuck in the Championship again.
While the German has yet to prove himself in the Premier League, he must give himself every chance of doing so ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. Otherwise, he could have a rather devastating smear on his record.
But whether the newly-announced ticket-price hikes will have any adverse effect on Farke or his players with the stakes made so abundantly clear is another matter he will have to negotiate now as well.
