Arsenal signed Raheem Sterling on deadline day to finally add that final piece of their attacking puzzle.

However, in another world, Arsenal could've ended up with a different attacking player.

Indeed, the Gunners were linked with a number of attacking options this summer.

Kingsley Coman was linked with Arsenal, while Leroy Sane was also named as an Arsenal target.

However, according to Arsenal insider, Team News and Ticks, speaking on his Patreon, Bryan Mbeumo is also someone the Gunners had a real look at.

Arsenal looked at Bryan Mbeumo

The reporter shared what he knows about the £5m man.

"I think some of the names will surprise you, we've not heard them at all. The first one is a bit of a surprise one," He said.

"It never got to any stage where it would happen, but our data team were really high on Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. The deal would've been near impossible. They wanted a high fee because they knew they were losing Ivan Toney. Even though I knew the deal wouldn't happen I was waiting for the name to break because they were strongly considering whether they could get him out of Brentford."

Bryan Mbeumo could be a future option

Arsenal's data team really like Bryan Mbeumo, and perhaps he could be an option for the Gunners in the future.

Yes, Raheem Sterling has joined the Gunners, but he's only on loan for the season.

At the end of the season, Sterling will return to Chelsea after his spell with Arsenal, and the Gunners may be looking to sign a new winger once again.

Mbeumo has had a brilliant start to the season, and at the age of just 25, this is a player who still has a big future ahead of him.

Mbeumo is a transfer target to keep in mind in the future as Arsenal clearly have serious admiration for the attacker's ability.
