'A very cerebral footballer': Gary Lineker admits he just loves watching one Tottenham player right now

Tottenham produced the result of the season as they beat Manchester City 4-0 and Gary Lineker has been singing the praises of a couple of Spurs stars.
Ange Postecoglou's side ripped through Man City at will and in the end, might have scored even more than the four they got.
James Maddison was on form with a double, while Brennan Johnson and Pedro Porro also got on the score sheet.
Of course, it was the performance of Maddison that caught Ange Postecoglou's eye, albeit Dejan Kulusevski was the man who impressed Gary Neville.
But speaking about the Tottenham performance, former striker Gary Lineker found time to praise both Maddison and Kulusevski.
Gary Lineker seriously impressed by James Maddison against Man City
Speaking on the latest episode of Rest is Football about the performance of Maddison, Lineker admitted he just loves watching him play and believes Spurs are better with him involved.
"I am a massive fan of James Maddison. I think he is a very cerebral footballer. He is silky, particularly when he is on his game and is confident. Some of his play was superb, he makes them tick in there," Lineker said.
"Kulusevski, I thought was excellent as well. They were a constant threat to the City back line but it is that consistency that they have to find.
"I think they are making progress. I know they have stuttered along the way. But I think it's a joy to watch Postecoglou's football, I know it doesn't always pay off but whenever Spurs play it's a game you want to watch because you know, even if it's a bad day, you will still get some entertaining football."
Maddison has to keep producing for Spurs
There is a reason Tottenham have the name 'Spursy' and that's because after winning at City, it won't surprise anyone to see them go and lose their next game comfortably.
This is where the likes of James Maddison and the other top players need to set the tone and keep a consistent performance level.
On their day, the front four of Maddison, Solanke, Son and Kulusevski are among the best in Europe. But the key is consistency, something Spurs have never found.
The test for Maddison now is to drive those standards and ensure that the win at City becomes the norm, rather than a rarity.
