Manchester United are set to welcome one of Europe’s most exciting young full-backs to Old Trafford as Patrick Dorgu nears his move from Lecce.
Earlier this week, Fabrizio Romano declared "here we go" on Patrick Dorgu’s move to Manchester United.
TBR Football previously revealed that Manchester United had verbally agreed terms with Dorgu late last week.
Now, Denmark Under-21 head coach Steffen Hojer has told Red Devils fans what they can expect from the 20-year-old.
Manchester United fans told Patrick Dorgu is a ‘powerhouse’
Hojer has expressed his delight with Dorgu closing in on a move to Man United.
He believes Dorgu will make a real impact at Old Trafford, describing him as a “powerhouse” on the pitch but also praising his character.
"He's a powerhouse on a football field," Hojer told Tipsbladet. "He has an absolutely fantastic physique, is really well built and technically skilled.
“But most importantly, he is very humble outside the field. He is a quiet and quiet guy who is great to work with."
Hojer also praised Dorgu for how well he has done to progress in his career despite seemingly not being part of the plans at FC Nordsjaelland.
"If it goes through, as there is a lot of evidence, I can first and foremost say that he must be proud of himself," he added.
"What is so interesting is that he has not taken the direct path, but he has handled it well that he was not part of the plans in North Zealand.
“And then to go to Lecce's youth department and breakthrough in Serie A, to United will buy him now."
When Dorgu could finally sign for Manchester United
An agreement is now in place between Man United and Lecce for Dorgu, who is set to head to England for his medical ahead of his move.
Romano has now claimed that Dorgu’s medical is set to be rescheduled due to “documents/contracts”.
However, Romano stressed that there are no issues with the deal, and that the player is now expected to fly to England over the weekend.
If all goes well, then it looks as though Dorgu could be announced as a new Man United player by the start of next week.
