Tottenham Hotspur play host to West Ham United in Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off.

Spurs will be eager to bounce back after falling to yet another disappointing result before an international break.

Tottenham led 2-0 at Brighton & Hove Albion last time out, only to capitulate as the hosts surged back for a 3-2 win.

Meanwhile, West Ham had a tricky start to the season but steadied the ship prior to the international break with a 4-1 win over Ipswich Town.

The Hammers are now unbeaten in two after picking up a 1-1 draw at Brentford ahead of the Ipswich match.

Premier League legend Alan Shearer has now previewed Tottenham’s meeting with West Ham and predicted who’ll come out victorious.

Alan Shearer predicts narrow Tottenham win over West Ham

Shearer, writing on Metro, backed Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs to secure a narrow win over Julen Lopetegui’s Hammers.

“This is a big game for Ange Postecoglou,” wrote Shearer. “It's a huge game for Spurs after what happened to them last time at Brighton.

“He has said himself that the biggest disappointment of his Spurs reign so far was the way they crumbled when winning 2-0 last time out.

“West Ham will take some encouragement from that performance; they can be brave, and they might believe they can get something out of the game.

“Ange will be looking and demanding a real performance after what happened in the last game, and because of that, I'll go for Tottenham to edge it, just.”

Tottenham v West Ham team news

Spurs have received a double boost on the injury front ahead of the West Ham game.

Club captain Son Heung-min and fellow forward Richarlison are available once again after recovering from their respective injuries.

Summer signing Wilson Odobert is also nearing a return, but this weekend’s game comes too soon for him.

West Ham, meanwhile, remain without striker Niclas Fullkrug, who is still recovering from an injury in his calf and Achilles area.

The summer signing suffered the injury while featuring for Germany on international duty in September.
