Julian Alvarez left Manchester City for an eye watering fee in the summer, joining Atletico Madrid.
The initial feeling in Spain was that Alvarez was struggling to settle into life at Atletico having taken five games to score his first goal in La Liga.
His situation has now changed and Estadio Deportivo have praised the ex-City man turning things around at Los Rojiblancos.
He scored twice against Vic in the Copa del Rey yesterday, leaving the outlet to speak highly of how he was once 'alone against the world' but is now 'increasingly lethal' infront of goal for Diego Simeone’s side.
They also hail Alvarez’s workrate and ability to press high up the pitch, while also noting how he willingly drops deeper to pick up the ball to create for those around him.
The feeling is that Simeone would soon grow into a fan of the Argentine and his sale could be regretted by City.
It remains to be seen whether the latter turns out to be true or not because Manchester City earned a big fee from Alvarez’s sale and there is a lot of work yet to be done by the player.
