Andrew Robertson sends one-word message to Liverpool teammate Darwin Nunez

Liverpool star Andrew Robertson took to social media to praise Darwin Nunez’s “impact” after their 2-0 Premier League win over Brentford on Saturday (January 18).

Both Robertson, 30, and Nunez, 25, came off the bench to help Liverpool secure a last-gasp win over the West London club.

Arne Slot’s side were unable to break down a stubborn Bretford defence until Nunez finally opened the scoring in the 91st minute.

The Uruguay international then secured his brace just two minutes later, ending a five-game goalless streak and securing a valuable three points for the league leaders.

Liverpool are now six points clear at the top of the Premier League table after second-placed Arsenal dropped points in their 2-2 draw to Aston Villa.

The left-back hasn’t been quite as important under Slot as he was under Jurgen Klopp, starting 22 of his 27 games across all competitions, scoring zero goals, and providing one assist in his 1852 minutes of action.

Nunez has found it even harder, starting just 14 of his 27 games across all competitions, scoring six goals, and providing four assists in his 1403 minutes of action.

Robertson took to Instagram after the game to celebrate the win and praise Nunez’s “impact” having scored a late brace.

Liverpool will return to action in the Champions League against Lille on Tuesday (January 21) as they seek to keep their 100 per cent record in the competition intact.

Slot’s side will then host relegation-threatened Ipswich Town as they seek to make further progress towards the Premier League title.
