Tottenham Hotspur will look to return to winning ways when they face Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Spurs have lost their last two matches and are winless in four amid a mounting injury crisis that could see the likes of Micky van de Ven sidelined until the New Year.

Rangers have also had a tricky domestic campaign, trailing Ange Postecoglou’s former side Celtic by 11 points in the Scottish Premiership table.

However, Philippe Clement’s side are unbeaten in eight matches, winning six, and are level on points with Tottenham in the Europa League table.

TBR Football looks at who Postecoglou could name in his starting XI for Thursday’s match at Ibrox.

Tottenham team news v Rangers

Tottenham will be without first-choice centre-backs Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven after both came off injured against Chelsea.

Guglielmo Vicario, Richarlison, Wilson Odobert and Ben Davies are also set to miss out due to injury, while Mikey Moore is still recovering from a virus.

Brennan Johnson tipped to drop out as Archie Gray likely to start at centre-back

Postecoglou probably won’t make many changes for the game against Rangers, simply because he hasn’t got many available options.

Fraser Forster is expected to get the nod with Vicario still out, while Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie are likely to line up at full-back.

Radu Dragusin is once again the only fit senior centre-back at Tottenham, so he’ll most likely start in front of Forster.

Postecoglou hinted that Archie Gray could play once again at centre-back, as he did at Bournemouth and against Chelsea.

There is some more leeway in midfield, however, with Rodrigo Bentancur available due to his suspension only being at domestic level.

In addition, James Maddison and Lucas Bergvall are available, so both could get the nod alongside the Uruguay international.

This would see Dejan Kulusevski, Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr given a rest ahead of Sunday’s trip to Southampton.

However, Spurs’ front line is also affected by injury and illness, with Moore, Odobert and Richarlison all unavailable and Brennan Johnson a doubt.

With that in mind, Timo Werner could come in for Johnson, while Dominic Solanke and Son Heung-min could keep their places from the Chelsea loss.
