Armando Broja injury: Paul Joyce shares Everton and Chelsea loan deal update

Everton face being unable to add a new domestic loan signing after an update on Chelsea loanee Armando Broja’s deal between the clubs, Paul Joyce reports.
The Times journalist says that Chelsea “are unlikely to agree to the cancellation of his loan” following an injury to his angle ligaments in the 2-0 FA Cup win against Peterborough.
The forward was brought on in the 63rd minute for only his sixth appearance in an Everton shirt, but was then taken off in the 90th minute having gone down hurt in the 83rd minute.
The Albanian striker, who arrived at Goodison Park injured in September, has struggled to regain his fitness and his struggles are emblematic of the issues that surround the Toffees right now.
Broja struggled in his previous loan at Fulham, getting stuck behind Rodrigo Muniz after the Brazilian found himself in the form of his life, and now he seems set to struggle for regular first-team action again.
David Moyes has also given an update on the Albanian’s situation in his press conference on 17 January (13.36), saying: “On Broja, a conclusion hasn’t been reached yet on how to handle his injury status and situation.”
Everton are in trouble if they cannot cancel Broja’s loan deal
Football Insider Verdict
Chelsea are unlikely to accept a cancellation of the loan deal for Broja because of their inability to find another suitor for the striker.
Football finance expert, Adam Williams, reported to Everton.news back in September that the Toffee’s were paying all of Broja’s £40,000-a-week wages, something that is likely to keep him at Goodison Park until the end of the season.
This means that Everton cannot sign another player on loan domestically and will be forced to resort to making permanent transfers.
Taking Broja off their books and signing a new striker would have been ideal for the club and would have helped them replace Dominic Calvert-Lewin who looks set to leave on a free transfer.
Having received a points-deduction for failing to be compliant with profit and sustainability rules (PSR) last season, the Toffees avoided the same fate this year.
However, finances are still limited for the Liverpool-based club, but they may be about to sign Ernest Nuamah from Lyon.
Keith Wyness exclusively told Football Insider that the Toffees are looking to make three more signings as they look to back new boss Moyes.
In other news, Everton could have already received £300million for their new stadium.
