Arne Slot shares whether Ibrahima Konate will be fit to play for Liverpool vs Leicester City on Boxing Day

Liverpool host Leicester City in the Premier League on Boxing Day.

The Reds have had an incredible start to the season. We are almost at the halfway point of the campaign, and Arne Slot’s side are the favourites to win the title.

Liverpool will certainly go into the game against Leicester City as the favourites. They are always really strong at home, and if they play at their usual level, they should be able to blow the Foxes away.

Ahead of the game, Slot has shared an injury update on two players.

Will Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley return from injury for Liverpool vs Leicester?

Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley have both impressed under Slot this season.

The Frenchman played every single game for Liverpool in the Premier League and the Champions League until he suffered an injury against Real Madrid.

Bradley suffered his hamstring injury in the very same game. Like Konate, he has been out of action since and is working on his return.

Before the game against Tottenham, Slot claimed that Konate and Bradley both join first-team training at times but are not ready to start (Liverpool’s official website).

There was some hope that they would be ready by Boxing Day, but unfortunately for Liverpool fans, they will have to wait a bit longer.

In the embargoed section of his press conference, Slot was asked if Konate and Bradley will be available for the game against Leicester City.

The Liverpool boss quickly replied, as relayed on HaytersTV: “No!”

Is Federico Chiesa injured too?

Liverpool absolutely battered Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League in their clash before Christmas.

The Reds scored six thanks to a brace each from Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz and goals from Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister.

Konate and Bradley weren’t the only ones who missed that game – summer signing Federico Chiesa did not make it either, and Slot has now explained the real reason why.

“He’s sick, ill. Unfortunately for him because he had some minutes against Southampton. But, unfortunately for him, he was sick in the last two days (before the Tottenham clash).

“So, we couldn’t bring him to the game.”
