Arsenal have been persistently linked with Alexander Isak, but a fresh transfer update has fans buzzing about another potential striker target.

Arsenal made an attempt to sign Ollie Watkins during the winter window, but Aston Villa opted to sell Jhon Duran to Al-Nassr instead.

Arsenal identify Hugo Ekitike as Isak alternative amid Newcastle's stance

Jack Rosser of The Sun has reported that Arsenal are targeting Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike as an “alternative” to Alexander Isak.

He added that the Gunners may be forced to look elsewhere, as Newcastle are holding out for a staggering £150 million for their star forward.

Ekitike, a France Under-21 international, showcased his talent with a hat-trick against Lee Carsley's Young Lions on 21 March and has impressed in the Bundesliga, scoring 13 league goals and 19 in all competitions this season.

However, Arsenal are not the only club eyeing the 22-year-old, with Football Insider revealing that Manchester United and Newcastle are also in the race for Ekitike this summer.

Newcastle have been long-term admirers of Ekitike, having attempted to sign him in January 2022 and again in 2023 while he was still at PSG.
