Arsenal's Declan Rice responds to Aston Villa star Matty Cash's new message

Matty Cash received plenty of attention on social media after the Aston Villa star featured during the international break.
The 27-year-old has taken a backseat under Unai Emery this season, with either Ezri Konsa or Axel Disasi being trusted in his position, normally seeing him taking a spot on the bench.
Sadly for the full-back, that continued into the international break because, having started against Lithuania, Cash was benched for Poland’s 2-0 win over Malta on Monday 24 March and only played the final 24 minutes.
It was still an important cameo, nonetheless, helping claim all six points from two World Cup qualification matches over the international break, seeing Poland climb to the top of Group G.
The player, who has 170 appearances to his name for the Villans, will be hoping to prove himself before the June international window rolls around, and there is plenty of time for that to happen.

Taking to Instagram [25 March], Cash wrote: “Another win! A really enjoyable week! Thanks for all the support!” with a heart, Poland flag and skiing emojis.
Arsenal’s Declan Rice commented: “Love it, you” while teammates Ezri Konsa and Amadou Onana liked the post ahead of the Villa players reuniting back at Villa Park.
Unai Emery has no time for bad attitudes at Aston Villa
Football Insider verdict
With the 2024/25 campaign all boiling down to the final few weeks, Villa still have it all to play for in the Premier League, Champions League and even the FA Cup, with that competition their next port of call.
An away clash against Preston North End will be no easy way back into the routine, and with stars fighting for their spot on the pitch, Emery, who has been tipped for a Man United switch, will be in no mood for complaints.
Preston North End’s form | Aston Villa’s form |
Preston 2-1 Portsmouth | Aston Villa 3-0 Club Brugge |
Sunderland 1-1 Preston | Brentford 0-1 Aston Villa |
Sheffield United 1-0 Preston | Club Brugge 1-3 Aston Villa |
Preston 0-0 Swansea City | Aston Villa 2-0 Cardiff City |
Preston 3-0 Burnley | Crystal Palace 4-1 Aston Villa |
Cash has been extremely patient this season, having taken a step back at Villa Park in terms of game time, but it has been important for how Emery wants to set up and bring success back to the Midlands.
The former Nottingham Forest defender will have been dreaming of Villa’s current run in the Champions League, and winning the competition could seal moves to Villa Park for both Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio.
The excitement for the Villans could just be about to begin, with Emery unlikely to go anywhere, and the Birmingham club putting themselves on the map as a potential destination this summer.
